Israel Opens First Dedicated School for West Bank Hilltop Youth in Bet El

The first specialized school for youth from the West Bank hilltop communities was inaugurated in Bet El as part of Israeli government decision 4029. The school aims to provide tailored educational, value-based, and therapeutic support to these youths and is the first of four such institutions planned across Judea and Samaria. The opening ceremony was attended by Education Minister Yoav Kisch, Knesset member Avichai Boaron, Bet El Council head Shay Alon, and Jerusalem District Education Director Carmit Harush.

These new schools will operate under a unique model featuring personal guidance and professional teams working both within the schools and in the hilltop community environments. The programs are designed to help youth realize their potential, integrate positively into society, and lead meaningful service and contributions to the state. Minister Kisch emphasized the education system's commitment to reaching every student and providing appropriate support to hilltop youth to ensure their success and integration.

MK Boaron, who supported the initiative through the Education Committee, described the school’s opening as a significant milestone for the settlement movement and Israel. He highlighted the high quality and dedication of the youth living in these communities and stressed the state's responsibility to provide them with full educational resources. Boaron also shared a personal connection, noting his son and daughter’s involvement in hilltop agricultural communities.

Bet El Council head Shay Alon remarked that the school’s establishment marks a shift in state policy from focusing on problems to offering solutions through investment in education and youth development. He expressed confidence that the school will become a nurturing environment fostering responsible citizens, family members, and patriots, while also helping reduce violence and strengthen the settlement enterprise.
