Bennett-Linked Journalist Sparks Outrage With Anti-Haredi Remark
Hagai Huberman, editor of the magazine "Matzav HaRuach" and a journalist identified with Naftali Bennett, triggered an uproar after posting a message in a journalists’ group that included the phrase, "Run over every religious Jew, destroy every Haredi." One member of the chat responded in shock, asking, "What did you write here??"
The incident revived criticism of Huberman over earlier messages that drew public attention. In June 2022, during the Bennett-Lapid government, he was accused of pressure tactics after sending a message to then-minister Idit Silman about a vote on a West Bank regulations bill.
According to Silman, Huberman wrote that if she voted against the bill, he would have a strong headline, framing her together with Ayman Odeh against settlers. She later said she had received "this blackmail and threats message" from Huberman and that she would not make any decision based on intimidation, but would continue to act according to her values and remain loyal to those who elected her.
No response from Huberman’s side was given at this stage.
