Brother-in-Law of Bar Asraf Describes Hidden Struggle Before His Suicide

Bar Asraf ended his life beside the grave of his girlfriend, Liron Berda, who was murdered at the Nova party. His sister-in-law shared with 103FM that just days before his death, Bar had celebrated his brother’s wedding appearing joyful, but was deeply pained by Liron’s killing. The wedding took place on a Wednesday, and Bar was described as fully engaged and happy, caring for every detail and embracing guests warmly. Despite this, no one noticed his inner turmoil.

Bar’s sister-in-law recalled their last phone call before the wedding, where he expressed excitement and love, highlighting how close he was to his brother Maor, whom he spent much time with recently. She also spoke about Bar’s close friendship with Liron Berda, noting he confided in her and was devastated by her death, often visiting her grave and showing signs of suppressed grief.

In the year leading up to his suicide, Bar’s behavior changed; he became more involved with family and showed signs of depression about two months prior. Although family members supported him and stayed close, he insisted on some solitude. His sister-in-law described him as a strong yet happy person who hid his pain well.
