Liberman says Netanyahu may quit politics before the election
Avigdor Liberman, chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu and a Knesset member, said on Monday evening that it is not certain Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will run in the next election, which is due in about four months.
In an interview with Channel 12's "Meet the Press," Liberman said that once Netanyahu understands what is happening in the polls and sees that he has no path to forming a government, he will know to step aside.
Liberman also linked his prediction to Netanyahu's legal situation, saying he expects the prime minister to reach a plea deal and withdraw from political life.
