Ehud Barak warns Netanyahu could try to disrupt elections
Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak said on Sunday morning that if Benjamin Netanyahu tries to sabotage the elections, “there will be no choice but to expel him with sticks and stones.” He made the remarks in an interview on Kan News radio’s Reshet Bet program, “This Morning.”
Barak said Netanyahu might attempt such a move and argued it would be easy to do. He described a scenario in which an operation in Nabatieh prompts a response, Israel then acts in the Dahiya district, and the country ends up in a war with Iran instead of holding elections.
According to Barak, that chain of events could be used to derail the vote. His comments were aired Sunday morning and were reported as a warning about the political consequences of escalation.
