Prayers Asked for 94-Year-Old Kabbalist After Resuscitation and Hospitalization
Rabbi Rahamim Atiya, one of the leading figures at the Nehar Shalom kabbalists' yeshiva in Jerusalem, was taken to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in the capital on Friday morning after being resuscitated. He is 94 and, according to the report, remains in critical need of prayer.
The article said Atiya is hospitalized in an induced coma and on a ventilator. On Friday, his son-in-law, Sephardi Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, who is also president of the Council of Torah Sages, visited him in the hospital and recited Psalms at his bedside.
By Shabbat, his condition had stabilized somewhat, but he still required intensive prayers for mercy. The public was asked to pray for Rahamim ben Jamila for a complete recovery, along with the other sick people of Israel.
