Maya Same Calls for Prayers as Rabbi Dov Kook’s Condition Remains Critical

Maya Same, a survivor of captivity, has made an emotional appeal to the Israeli public to pray for the recovery of Rabbi Dov Kook, whose health condition is currently complex. In an Instagram story shared recently, Same emphasized that her request is not for financial donations but for prayers, good deeds, and spiritual support, highlighting Rabbi Kook’s own belief that his health is linked to the spiritual state of the Israeli people. She urged everyone to choose kindness, honesty, patience, and sensitivity during these difficult times, stressing the power of unity among the people of Israel.

Rabbi Dov Kook, known as the "Kabbalist of Tiberias," was hospitalized in May after suffering from a severe pneumonia that rapidly worsened, leading to full sedation and ventilation in intensive care. His condition deteriorated suddenly, prompting widespread calls for prayers across Israel. Last month, his son, Rabbi Gedaliah Kook, provided an update on a podcast, noting significant medical improvements such as kidney function recovery and removal of dialysis, but also stressed that Rabbi Kook has not yet regained full consciousness and that "great miracles" are still needed.

Maya Same encouraged her hundreds of thousands of followers to perform good deeds in Rabbi Kook’s merit, believing that even small acts of light can collectively create a great illumination. The situation remains delicate, with the community continuing to rally in spiritual support for the rabbi’s healing. The prayers include recitations from Psalm 130, reflecting hope and faith in divine mercy and redemption.
