Yaakov Bardugo Warns Netanyahu's Push to Reintegrate Moshe Kahlon Risks Political Suicide

Reports have emerged that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressuring former Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon to rejoin the Likud party and assume a top leadership role. This move has sparked strong backlash among Netanyahu's close associates. Media commentator Yaakov Bardugo launched a sharp critique on his Galey Israel radio show, calling the potential return of Kahlon a political misstep that contradicts the core values of the right-wing camp.

Bardugo referenced a report by Yossi Verter in Haaretz and stated, "If the report is true and Moshe Kahlon accepted Netanyahu's offer to join Likud, the party is heading toward political suicide." He accused Kahlon of being responsible for dismantling the Israeli military through the implementation of the "Tirshah" plan by Gadi Eisenkot and obstructing judicial reform efforts through agreements with former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak. Bardugo described Kahlon as emblematic of the entrenched establishment that the national camp has opposed in recent years.

He further condemned Kahlon's potential comeback as a complete failure of the right-wing's struggle over the past four years, calling it "bankruptcy of everything we fought for." Bardugo's comments reflect deep divisions within Netanyahu's circle regarding the strategic direction of the Likud party and the broader right-wing political agenda in Israel.
