Hapoel Tel Aviv Draws Atalanta, Beitar Jerusalem Faces Braga in Conference League Playoff
Hapoel Tel Aviv and Beitar Jerusalem learned their potential opponents for the UEFA Conference League playoff round on Monday, contingent on advancing past their current qualifying matches. Hapoel Tel Aviv, after eliminating Ludogorets in the previous round, must first overcome Polish side Katowice to face a challenging tie against Italian club Atalanta. Entering the draw unseeded, Hapoel could have faced other strong teams such as Freiburg or the winners of matches involving Panathinaikos, CSKA Sofia, Linfield, Rapid Vienna, Sheriff Tiraspol, or St. Gallen.
Beitar Jerusalem, having ousted Larnaca, was drawn to potentially face the winner between Portugal's Braga and Belarus' Dinamo Minsk, provided they defeat Austria Vienna. Other possible opponents for Beitar included winners from ties between Dynamo Kyiv and Qarabag, Partizan Belgrade and Tobol, or Lugano and Runavik.
The first leg of the playoff round is scheduled for August 20, with the return leg on August 27. The aggregate winners from these ties will advance to the group stage of the Conference League.
