American Airlines Delays Return to Israel Until March 2027

American Airlines has extended its suspension of flights to Israel until March 2027. The U.S. carrier has not operated flights to Israel since October 7, 2023, and had postponed its planned return multiple times over the past year. The most recent scheduled comeback was set for January 2027, but the airline decided to further delay resuming flights to Ben Gurion Airport until the end of March 2027.

Similarly, other major American airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, have also suspended their flights to Israel, with cancellations extended through September 2026. Neither company has announced an official date for resuming service.

Due to the absence of these American carriers, direct flight options between Israel and the United States remain very limited. Currently, only Israeli airlines El Al and Arkia operate nonstop flights to the U.S. Additionally, Israir is expected to launch a direct route to New York within the coming month, expanding available options for travelers.

This ongoing suspension of American airline services significantly reduces the availability of direct flights between Israel and the U.S., impacting travelers and the aviation market until at least early 2027.
