Religious Zionism Representative Shagai Ben Lisha Appointed Deputy Mayor of Tirat Carmel

Shagai Ben Lisha, a representative of the Religious Zionism party, was officially appointed Deputy Mayor of Tirat Carmel on Sunday. This appointment follows over two and a half years of voluntary service as a city council member, during which he actively engaged in public service for the residents, including throughout the recent war period. Ben Lisha described his new role as a continuation of his mission, emphasizing his full commitment to advancing municipal and governmental responses tailored to the city's needs.

Reflecting on his journey, Ben Lisha recalled announcing his candidacy for the city council three years ago and noted the unexpected challenges faced by the city and nation since then. He expressed pride in dedicating his energy to the community and accepted the deputy mayor position with humility, stating, "This achievement is yours and for you: we did not come to enjoy an office and air conditioning, we came to serve." He pledged 100% dedication to the residents without reservations.

Ben Lisha outlined his main goals in the new role, including promoting education, culture, welfare, sports, and community development within the city, in cooperation with government ministries that view Tirat Carmel as a fertile ground for investment. He thanked city council members, especially Mayor Dudu Cohen, the residents, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich for their support. He also cited Rabbi Elisha Wishlitzky's words about creating a pure heart and called for mutual care and strength to continue working together.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich congratulated Ben Lisha on his appointment, praising his outstanding work in education, culture, welfare, and sports, and pledged full support for his continued efforts in Tirat Carmel. Smotrich concluded by wishing Ben Lisha success and affirming that the residents of Tirat Carmel have gained a dedicated leader.
