Nataniel Shitrit Joins Harish City Council as New Religious Zionist Representative
The Liberal faction in Harish City Council announced a change in its council members, with Yiftach Stein stepping down and Nataniel Shitrit taking his place. Shitrit, 39, a high-tech engineer and longtime resident of Harish, will also serve as chair of the city's audit committee. The faction stated the move aims to strengthen opposition work and oversight of municipal activities while expanding public engagement beyond the council.
Shitrit is recognized as a representative of the Religious Zionist community within the Liberal faction. He previously helped establish the "Hadok" club and the community library in Harish and has been active in cultural and community initiatives. Upon assuming office, he emphasized the importance of professional management, transparency, and attentive governance as foundations for a strong city.
Outgoing council member Yiftach Stein, an educator with a master's degree, explained his decision to leave the council to focus on advancing educational and community initiatives directly in the field. Opposition leader Shani Greenberg welcomed Shitrit's appointment, highlighting the need for authentic representation of Harish's significant Religious Zionist population and praising Shitrit's professionalism and ability to connect diverse groups.
