Religious Zionism Builds Strong Election List Backed by Government Achievements

Religious Zionism, led by Bezalel Smotrich, enters the upcoming elections from a position of strength, thanks to significant government achievements, progress in Judea and Samaria, and a well-structured candidate list. Despite the final list and reserved spots not yet set, the emerging lineup is considered one of the best and most loyal to its base. Smotrich brings two key advantages to voters: notable accomplishments achieved with relatively limited parliamentary power during politically challenging times, and a cohesive, disciplined candidate list.

Among the achievements highlighted is the party's influence on sensitive issues like the military draft law, where other coalition partners, including the ultra-Orthodox parties, failed to secure meaningful gains. Smotrich's role in maintaining a right-wing government without threatening its stability is also emphasized. Most notably, the party has driven near-unprecedented progress in Judea and Samaria, with efforts aimed at advancing sovereignty, supported by the incoming CEO of the Yesha Council, Omer Rahamim, a close ally of Smotrich.

The candidate list contrasts sharply with that of Likud, where Prime Minister Netanyahu faces internal struggles and challenges from independent-minded members. In Religious Zionism, dissenters who did not align with party discipline voluntarily left, resulting in a unified and loyal slate. The party notably placed a woman, Orit Strook, first in the primaries without complex political maneuvers. Strook is praised for her integrity, humility, and consistent warnings about political dangers before the October 7 attacks, as well as her personal connection to the military through her family.

Another key figure is MK Simcha Rothman, described as the driving force behind the Constitution Committee and judicial reform efforts, with hopes he will continue in a significant role, possibly as justice minister. Overall, Religious Zionism is portrayed as an ideological party that remains pragmatic, loyal to its voters and promises, and capable of delivering substantial contributions to Torah, the people of Israel, and the land of Israel.
