MK Sharren Haskel Claims MK Michel Buskila Directed Her to Record Vote in State Comptroller Election

MK Sharren Haskel has alleged that Michel Buskila, chairman of the National Right faction and Deputy Foreign Minister, instructed her to document her vote during the election of the State Comptroller. This claim was reported on Sunday evening by Channel 13 news. Journalist Michael Shemesh noted that since last week, he sought comments from both Haskel and Buskila, but both declined to respond. Haskel stated she was prohibited from speaking due to the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, police sources told Channel 12 that Haskel's testimony lacked substantive details about any directive to record the vote. They described her testimony as brief and vague, containing only general statements that Buskila requested her to document the vote. The sources added that she did not provide evidence to support her claims and failed to offer a coherent and definitive account.

Following Haskel's testimony, police have requested the State Attorney's Office to obtain testimonies from additional Likud party members as part of the inquiry into the State Comptroller election process. Earlier on Sunday, Haskel testified in police questioning related to the investigation initiated after the State Attorney's directive, concerning the recording of votes in the election of Michael Regev to the State Comptroller position.

Haskel had previously submitted an affidavit to the Supreme Court claiming she was required to record her vote and present the recording to the Prime Minister. In an interview with Moria Asraf on Channel 13, Haskel refused to disclose details of her police testimony, stating she was forbidden from sharing information to avoid compromising the investigation. When pressed about who gave the order to record, she declined to name anyone, reiterating she could not share more than what she had already stated earlier that day.
