Large Brush Fire Near Beit Shemesh Prompts Evacuations and Firefighting Efforts

A large brush fire is currently spreading in a wooded area near the moshav Kisalon, close to Beit Shemesh. Due to the rapid spread of the fire and concerns for residents' safety, firefighters have begun evacuating the first line of homes in the Magilot HaEsh neighborhood. Approximately 30 firefighting teams from the Jerusalem district are actively combating the blaze, supported by six firefighting aircraft. Their main focus is to contain the fire, protect buildings, and prevent harm to people and property.

The Fire and Rescue Services commissioner is closely monitoring the situation and directing efforts on the ground. Additional firefighting teams are arriving as the incident continues. The Israel Police reported that Border Police units from Jerusalem are assisting with evacuations and maintaining public safety in the area. Furthermore, Route 395 has been closed from the Eshtaol junction to the Steff junction due to the fire.

The fire remains active, with emergency services prioritizing containment and civilian protection in the affected region near Beit Shemesh.
