Special Envoy Visits Rabbi Kanievsky's Tomb Daily During Bein Hazmanim with Donor Names for Protection

During the Bein Hazmanim period, a special envoy from Kuppat Ha'Ir visits the holy tomb of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky in Bnei Brak each morning after the Vatikin prayer. The envoy carries a list of donors' names, with a request for each to be protected throughout these days. This initiative is organized by the "Veyishmerecha" fund, established by Rabbi Kanievsky himself within Kuppat Ha'Ir, aimed at safeguarding Torah students when they leave the yeshiva walls during Bein Hazmanim.

The fund has existed for years, but this year it has gained heightened attention due to increased dangers. Parents face dual concerns: the risk of arrest by authorities when their sons go out, and the perennial hazards present on roads and vacation spots. This combination has intensified parental responsibility and worry for their yeshiva students.

Recently, a letter from Rabbi Kanievsky was retrieved from the archives, emphasizing the spiritual and physical protection granted to donors who contribute 210 shekels (ten shekels per day for each of the 21 Bein Hazmanim days). This amount remains unchanged since Rabbi Kanievsky set it. Additionally, a new donation track was introduced this year: donors contributing 60 shekels per day (totaling 1,260 shekels) will receive daily prayers from prominent rabbis Shteinman and Galai for elevated protection during Bein Hazmanim, along with a "protection card" featuring a piece of the willow branch used by Rabbi Kanievsky during the Arba Minim ritual. The card is recommended to be kept while traveling as a protective amulet.

All donors' names are brought daily to Rabbi Kanievsky's tomb after the Vatikin prayer throughout Bein Hazmanim. The fund encourages participation through its online platform to submit names for protection during this vulnerable period.
