German Airline Condor Resumes Daily Flights to Israel After 70 Years

German airline Condor, represented by Tal Aviation Group, has relaunched its direct flight route from Frankfurt to Tel Aviv after a 70-year hiatus. The inaugural flight took place within the last 24 hours, marking the company's return to Israel with daily service. Condor, established in 1956, originally operated its first flight from Frankfurt to Israel in March of that year. The airline recently underwent a rebranding featuring distinctive colorful stripes on its aircraft, which have become a recognizable symbol of the brand.

The new route will have flights departing Frankfurt in the afternoon and returning from Tel Aviv the following morning. According to Condor, this expansion supports the growth of its international network and meets increasing demand for flights between Israel, Germany, and other global destinations served by the airline. Condor currently serves over 70 destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America, transporting around 10 million passengers annually with a fleet of approximately 60 aircraft and over 5,000 employees.

The relaunch comes amid a busy summer period at Ben Gurion Airport, which is experiencing record passenger volumes exceeding 90,000 daily. Average departure delays over the past week have reached 65 minutes, the highest this year, with additional American refueling flights expected to add to congestion. Condor's CEO Peter Gerber emphasized the strategic importance of the Tel Aviv route, highlighting the convenience of direct flights and seamless connections for travelers worldwide. He expressed optimism about welcoming many new passengers alongside the airline's partners in the future.
