IDF Warns Northern Israeli Residents of Loud Explosion Amid Escalation with Hezbollah

The IDF Northern Command issued a warning on Thursday evening to residents of Metula and Misgav Am in northern Israel to open their windows to prevent glass shattering from a forthcoming strong explosion. No unusual instructions were given to other nearby communities. This alert comes amid rising tensions along the northern border following recent IDF operations against armed militants near the Israeli-Lebanese border.

Earlier this week, the IDF reported striking a group of armed terrorists near the village of Al-Taher, who were disguised as civilians and operating a bulldozer and motorcycle. The forces targeted the militants north of the security zone to neutralize the threat. Over the weekend, Hezbollah fired more than 50 rockets toward IDF forces, violating the ceasefire agreement, according to an IDF spokesperson.

The IDF vowed a strong response to any attacks on civilians or soldiers. The Northern Command Chief noted the impact of weakening Iran's radical regime on the conflict with Hezbollah, stating that over 400 Hezbollah militants have been eliminated so far. In retaliation for Hezbollah's violations, the IDF launched strikes overnight against dozens of terror infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon, including rocket launch positions, weapons depots, and command centers.

The IDF emphasized its commitment to the ceasefire agreement under political directives while continuing to act decisively to remove threats to Israel and its forces.
