Yinon Magal Responds to Hospital Boycott, Compares Channel 14 to Hamas
Yinon Magal, a popular presenter on Israel's Channel 14, addressed the controversy surrounding a boycott by several hospitals against the channel. Speaking on the program "The Patriots" on Wednesday evening, Magal claimed that the boycott aimed to suppress Channel 14's presence in public spaces, suggesting that the effort was intended to silence the channel. He said, "They want Channel 14 not to be seen in the public sphere, to strangle us. As if without expression, we will disappear."
Despite the boycott, Magal asserted that the channel's broadcasts continue to be viewed within hospitals, noting that he regularly receives photos from viewers showing Channel 14 being aired in hospital settings. He emphasized that the attempt to silence the channel is unsuccessful. Magal concluded by drawing a controversial comparison, stating, "As they said, by way of distinction, about Hamas? It’s an idea, so Channel 14 is an idea, and an idea cannot be strangled."
