Dispute at Hapoel Tel Aviv Leadership Puts CEO Position at Risk
Hapoel Tel Aviv is experiencing internal turmoil as CEO Tzahi Reichenstein faces a possible departure due to disagreements with the club's new chairman, Oren Hasson. Hasson, appointed just a month ago, previously served as chairman of the Israel Football Association and CEO of the League Management. Sources within the club report a significant rift between Hasson and Reichenstein over the club's management strategy, making their continued collaboration unlikely. Ultimately, club owner Ofer Yanai will decide Reichenstein's future, but no decision has been made yet.
Reichenstein, 44, has been CEO since September 2024 and held senior roles in leading companies for 15 years prior. Should Reichenstein leave, it is expected that Tomer Yaron, CEO of Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona since 2016, will succeed him. Yaron, 51, manages all club departments including the women's team, youth division, and development group at the southern club.
