Two Ultra-Orthodox Men from New Jersey Arrested with $3 Million in Marijuana on Pennsylvania Highway
Two ultra-Orthodox men from New Jersey, one from Lakewood and the other from Toms River, were arrested by Pennsylvania police on a state toll highway after being caught with over 300 kilograms of marijuana valued at more than $3 million. The incident occurred recently on an interstate road where the vehicle was stopped for speeding at 140 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The 19-year-old driver from Lakewood was found to be driving without a valid license, and the 34-year-old passenger was from Toms River. During a search of the vehicle, police also discovered 200 pills of another hard drug. Authorities seized the drugs and charged both men with possession of dangerous substances with intent to distribute. After appearing before a judge, each was granted bail set at $500,000. Both remain in custody pending a hearing.
