Likud Leaders Demand Shortened Eligibility Period for Hadar Mukhtar to Run in Primaries

Dozens of Likud officials, including mayors, branch heads, and central committee members, have formally requested Prime Minister and Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz to shorten the eligibility period for party activist Hadar Mukhtar. The request, accompanied by a signed legal affidavit listing 120 prominent party leaders and activists supporting the move, aims to allow Mukhtar to participate in the upcoming Likud primaries.

In their letter to the party leadership, the signatories highlighted Mukhtar's extensive contributions since her discharge from the IDF, noting her exceptional dedication to grassroots work. They cited her efforts in submitting over 1,000 new membership forms, organizing widespread election-related activities for the 26th Knesset elections, and maintaining a consistent presence at party events.

The letter emphasized Mukhtar's role in strengthening Likud's appeal among young voters nationwide, a demographic the party seeks to engage more deeply. The signatories argued that Likud has historically welcomed committed young activists and that Mukhtar has proven herself on the ground. They concluded that significant public interest justifies granting her request to shorten the eligibility period and urged the party leaders to approve it.
