New Settlement Buildings Installed in West Bank's Dothan Valley Ahead of Inhabitants' Arrival

Preparations for establishing the new settlement of Emek Dothan in the biblical Dothan Valley continue, with the first residential buildings recently placed on site. The Shomron Regional Council, in cooperation with the Amana movement, is leading the project, which is part of a broader "Connection Plan" spearheaded by Council head Yossi Dagan. This plan envisions creating 19 new settlements in northern Samaria.

Yossi Dagan visited the construction site alongside Yigal Sarfati, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education, to oversee the placement of the buildings and discuss plans for educational institutions to serve the new communities. Dagan emphasized the transformation from the previous evacuation of four settlements to the current initiative to build 19 new ones, calling it a renewal of northern Samaria and a unifying effort for all of Israel. He projected that Emek Dothan will become a significant regional center housing hundreds of families.

Yigal Sarfati highlighted the Ministry of Education's commitment to providing educational services in the Shomron Regional Council area, ensuring support wherever new settlements arise. Rabbi Chaim Baruch, leader of the pre-military educational institutions whose graduates are expected to establish the settlement, described the move as a return home and a strengthening presence in northern Samaria after a long period of exclusion.
