Katz Says Israel Will Keep Security Zones in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza
Defense Minister Israel Katz responded to the emerging agreement between the United States and Iran, saying Israel will not withdraw from its security zones in Lebanon, Syria or Gaza. He said the IDF would continue to defend Israel’s borders and citizens from Mount Hermon, the Lebanon highlands, parts of Samaria, and most of the Gaza Strip, describing that posture as a central lesson of the October 7 attacks.
Katz also said the army would not pull out of what he called terror camps in northern Samaria, which have been emptied of residents. He added that if necessary, the campaign could be expanded to additional terror camps.
