Prominent Haredi Newspaper Editor Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography in Jerusalem Area
A well-known Haredi newspaper editor, approximately 58 years old and residing in Kiryat Yearim, was arrested on Tuesday morning on suspicion of possessing child pornography and other illegal materials. The arrest was carried out by investigators from the Youth Exposure Department within the Central Unit of the Jerusalem District Police, following intelligence that raised suspicions against him.
Police executed a search warrant at the suspect's home, seizing a mobile phone and a personal computer, which were sent to police digital laboratories for evidence extraction. The editor was taken in for questioning under caution. Authorities plan to present him later in the day to the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court to request an extension of his detention to continue the investigation.
