Trump Rejects Reported Iran Deal Terms as False

US President Donald Trump said on Friday afternoon on his Truth Social account that the terms Iran leaked to the media had “no connection” to the written agreement. He added that Iran’s claims, including what he called its “weak and pathetic” statement about reaching a deal, were not true, and described the country as “very dishonorable” and impossible to deal with “in good faith.”

Trump also said an Iranian drone attack, which he said was completely repelled the previous night, targeted Indian ships leaving the Strait of Hormuz and was “totally unacceptable.” He warned that Iran should “get your act together, and fast.”

At the same time, a senior White House official told Fox News that Iran had agreed to a “performance-based agreement” that would require major concessions before any sanctions relief. According to the official, Iran’s nuclear material would be destroyed and removed from the country, its nuclear program would be dismantled, and no money would be unfrozen until Tehran met its commitments.

The official also said the Strait of Hormuz would remain open and that Iran would agree to stop funding its terrorist proxies. The remarks came amid conflicting accounts over the status and terms of any understanding with Tehran.
