Israeli Singer Asaf Herz Releases New Song 'My Beautiful' Reflecting His Spiritual Journey

Asaf Herz, an Israeli singer and actor known for his roles in series like "Alifim" and "Shkhuna," has released a new intimate love song titled "My Beautiful" to mark the Jewish holiday Tu B'Av. The song, the third single from his upcoming debut album, narrates the personal love story between Herz and his partner Hadar Kaniel, intertwined with his spiritual return to religious observance. Herz describes how their relationship began while he was still navigating between secular and religious worlds, studying Hasidism and working on Shabbat but hesitant to fully embrace a religious lifestyle.

A pivotal moment came when Hadar expressed her desire for a "home of servants of God," which Herz says opened a new spiritual window for him, inspiring him to deepen his faith and commitment. Herz, who studied in Brooklyn and joined the Chabad Hasidic community, married Hadar in a traditional match and now balances his religious life with his artistic career in music and acting.

The song was co-written and composed by Herz and Liam Hachmon, with production by Din Elbaz and Ben Ohana, prominent figures in Israel's new music production scene. Herz expressed gratitude for the timing of the release around Tu B'Av, a day symbolizing pure love and spiritual unity. He also shared that he now uses a kosher phone and continues to integrate Torah study and religious lifestyle with his creative work.
