Smotrich Warns Right-Wing Is in Coma, Vows to Win 10 Seats in Upcoming Elections

Bezalel Smotrich, chairman of the Religious Zionist Party, addressed his party's primary results event, expressing deep concern about the current state of the right-wing and national camp in Israel. He compared the situation to the 1992 elections, which preceded the Oslo Accords, describing it as a 'coma.' Smotrich warned that if Gadi Eisenkot becomes prime minister, he would destroy the achievements in Judea and Samaria and, alongside left-wing partners, return to the Oslo path aimed at establishing a Palestinian state.

Smotrich specifically criticized Defense Minister Yair Golan, claiming that under his leadership, institutions like the Eli pre-military academy would be shut down, settlements evacuated, and the entire settlement and farm enterprise dismantled. He emphasized the urgent need to aggressively contest the upcoming elections, expressing confidence that, with divine help, his party would secure 10 Knesset seats.

This statement reflects the Religious Zionist Party's hardline stance against any perceived concessions to the Palestinians and signals their intent to strengthen their political influence in the next electoral cycle.
