Eugene Ansa Nears Move to Beitar Jerusalem
Forward Eugene Ansa is close to joining Beitar Jerusalem after finishing his contract with M.S. Ashdod, which was relegated to the National League. The 31-year-old is expected to sign with the Jerusalem club shortly.
Beitar’s main advantage in pursuing Ansa is his updated status. After seven years in Israel, he is expected to be registered as an Israeli player next season, giving the club more flexibility than if he were still counted as a foreigner.
Ansa also brings extensive Israeli Premier League experience. He arrives off a strong individual campaign despite Ashdod’s relegation, scoring nine goals and standing out as one of the team’s few bright spots.
Even before his status change, when he was still considered a foreign player, Ansa had already been linked with several top-flight clubs. His expected move would add an experienced attacking option to Beitar’s squad ahead of the coming season.
