Father of Missing Girl Claims Racial Bias After Joy Over Found Child

Following the recent safe return of Yuval Kogan, who was missing for a short period, Tsafaya Kasso, father of another missing child, Heymanot Kasso, expressed mixed emotions of relief and renewed pain. Heymanot disappeared over two and a half years ago at age nine, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Tsafaya described the overwhelming happiness for Yuval's family but contrasted it with his own ongoing anguish and frustration over the lack of progress and attention in his daughter's case.

Tsafaya criticized the authorities for what he perceives as unequal treatment, attributing the difference in response to racial discrimination. He noted that Yuval's parents are professionals with social influence, which he believes contributed to the swift mobilization in Yuval's case, unlike the minimal action taken for Heymanot. Despite repeated pleas, his family has received little information or updates from the police, leaving them in the dark.

He called on the Israeli government and security agencies, including the Shin Bet and military intelligence, to utilize all available technological resources to find Heymanot and demanded equal investigative efforts. Tsafaya remains hopeful that his daughter is alive and possibly held by someone, urging the public to pray for her safe return. His testimony highlights ongoing concerns about systemic bias and the challenges faced by families of missing children in Israel.
