Power Failure Disrupts Train Service Between Tel Aviv and Lod During Morning Rush Hour

On the morning of July 26, 2026, Israel Railways experienced a power network failure that halted train traffic on the line between Tel Aviv and Lod during peak commuting hours. The disruption occurred as thousands of passengers were traveling to work and military bases, causing significant congestion, particularly at Tel Aviv HaShalom station. After more than two hours, train service was restored to normal.

This incident follows a similar disruption the previous Sunday, when a fire near the tracks in Be'er Ya'akov caused widespread delays across multiple stations including Ashkelon, Rehovot, Be'er Ya'akov, Yavne East, Lod, Rishon LeZion HaRishonim, and Ashdod Ad Halom. Israel Railways issued public notices to inform commuters of the interruptions and the ongoing efforts to resolve the issues.
