Rafi Biton and Choir 'Voices from Heaven - Jerusalem' Premiere Moving 'By the Rivers of Babylon' Composition

As the period of Bein HaMetzarim concludes and the yearning for Jerusalem’s rebuilding remains strong, musician and composer Rafi Biton presents a powerful musical work titled "By the Rivers of Babylon." This special performance features the choir "Voices from Heaven - Jerusalem" accompanied by a symphony orchestra arranged by Eyal Ritz. Soloists Yehuda Bismuth, Eli Goldberg, David Zilberstein, and Uriel Leibman perform alongside choir singers Avichai Edel, Yair Davidov, Dvir Weinman, Josh Wolmark, Itai Blair, Aviad Almaliach, and Didi Tzur.

The project is dedicated to the memory of Shoshana Zilberstein and produced under the auspices of Jerusalem’s Municipal Department for Israeli Heritage, in cooperation with the Jerusalem Development Authority and the Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage. The production team includes musical director Rafi Biton, symphonic arranger Eyal Ritz, mixing and mastering by Hanokh Manela, video editing by Miri Menkes, and project management by Israel Golan, Yoel Berkovich, and Moshe Friedman.

In anticipation of the High Holy Days, a special weekend event called "Pa'amei Elul" will take place in Jerusalem during the peak of the month of Elul (September 3, 2026). The main event will be held at the Sultan's Pool featuring a grand performance by Rafi Biton, the choir, and guest artists. Additionally, uplifting Shabbat prayers with cantors and liturgical singers will be held at the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem. Special hospitality packages including concert and prayer tickets will be offered at local hotels.
