Israeli Police Finalize Security Plans for Haifa Derby at Sammy Ofer Stadium

Israeli police have completed their security preparations for the Toto Cup football match between Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Haifa, scheduled for July 25, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. at Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa. Stadium gates will open at 6:30 p.m., and fans are urged to arrive early due to strict entrance checks and expected traffic congestion caused by temporary traffic changes. Access to the stadium vicinity will be limited to permit holders and residents of the Neot Peres neighborhood. Enhanced public transportation services will operate from key locations, including Kiryat Center, Lev HaMifratz, and Carmel Beach, with increased shuttle services after the match near the stadium on Road 4 by the Statue Junction.

Police have prohibited the entry of flares, pyrotechnics, and face-covering clothing such as ski masks, warning that violations could lead to fines of up to 3,000 shekels, immediate game suspension, criminal proceedings, and 30-day bans from football matches. Security measures at the stadium will include inspection tents, scanning systems, and increased surveillance cameras. Weapons, alcohol, and intoxicated fans will not be allowed entry, and drone operation during the match is forbidden. Movement between gates without permission is also prohibited.
