Kings Kangwa Set to Miss Red Star Clash as He Moves to Panathinaikos

Kings Kangwa, once considered a disappointment at Red Star Belgrade but later a key player and one of the most influential in Hapoel Be'er Sheva's history, is set to transfer to Panathinaikos. This move was widely covered in Serbian media, which expressed relief that Red Star will likely avoid facing their former player in the upcoming UEFA Champions League qualifiers. Hapoel Be'er Sheva, if they advance past Vikingur, is expected to meet Red Star Belgrade, who recently won 4-0 against Larne in the second qualifying round. However, Kangwa is expected to miss this encounter due to his transfer.

Serbian outlet HotSport highlighted that Kangwa's absence could be a significant blow to Be'er Sheva, as he has become their most important player over the past two seasons. Meanwhile, Greek media extensively covered Kangwa's move to Panathinaikos, explaining the club's decision to sign him. Unlike AEK Athens, which is competing for a 10 million euro playoff spot and cannot field Kangwa in the Champions League group stage due to his prior appearances for Be'er Sheva, Panathinaikos is less focused on European progression and more on winning the Greek league title.
