Temperatures Drop After Heatwave, But Heat Persists in Jordan Valley and Dead Sea Areas

Following several days of intense heat, temperatures in Israel are expected to decline today, Thursday, particularly in the mountainous regions and inland areas, returning to seasonal norms. The morning will start with partial to full cloud cover, clearing up as the day progresses. While the overall heat burden will ease, significant heat stress will continue throughout most of the day in the Jordan Valley, southern Judean Desert, Dead Sea, and northern Arava regions. Winds will strengthen in the afternoon, and the night will be partly cloudy to clear.

Temperature forecasts for major locations include Jerusalem at 20-30°C, Tel Aviv-Yafo at 25-32°C, Haifa at 26-31°C, Afula at 24-37°C, Ashdod and Ashkelon both at 24-32°C, Beersheba at 23-36°C, Mitzpe Ramon at 23-35°C, and Eilat reaching a high of 42°C with lows around 29°C.
