Businessman Sues Singer Sasson Shaulov for Over One Million Shekels Over Partnership Dispute
Ehud Ron, a businessman, has filed a lawsuit exceeding one million shekels against singer Sasson Shaulov, his manager Shay Reuveni, and Avi Gueta Productions at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court. Ron claims that after investing hundreds of thousands of shekels to promote Shaulov's career, he was excluded from the business and denied his share of the profits. According to the lawsuit, in 2020 Ron and Reuveni, who are cousins, made an oral partnership agreement where Ron would finance artist development and Reuveni would provide music industry expertise, with profits split equally. They later focused on advancing Shaulov's career.
Ron alleges he funded the representation agreement with Avi Gueta Productions through three bank transfers totaling 201,220 shekels and also paid legal fees for drafting the contract. He further claims to have financed recording studios, music productions, music videos, and professional equipment, some of which remained with Reuveni. In September 2023, Shaulov moved into Ron's apartment in Ramat Gan, living there rent-free for over a year, with Ron covering living expenses and providing transportation to recordings, rehearsals, and performances. Ron estimates his total financial support and benefits to Shaulov and their joint activities at least 336,000 shekels, excluding his claimed share of profits.
Ron states that after Shaulov achieved success and began generating significant income, his relationship with Reuveni deteriorated. Initially, Ron received only partial payments, and later Reuveni denied the existence of any partnership. Ron's name, originally credited as artistic manager, was also removed. The lawsuit requests the court to recognize the binding business partnership, order disclosure of Shaulov's income and documents, and compel the defendants to pay Ron his share of profits. Additionally, Ron seeks reimbursement, registration of rights, and damages for alleged harm. The court has yet to examine or rule on these claims.
