Mossad Thwarts Iranian Plot to Infiltrate Terrorists into Israel Targeting Officials

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced on Thursday that Mossad successfully foiled a terrorist attack planned by Iran's Ministry of Intelligence aimed at harming senior Israeli officials. According to the statement, Iran intended to infiltrate foreign operatives into Israeli territory to carry out the attack. The operation was disrupted through a joint effort involving multiple international intelligence agencies.

The method involved recruiting criminal proxy networks that, in turn, engaged individuals inside Israel or those with access to Israel to gather intelligence on the intended targets before executing the attack. Mossad identified a French resident named Thorez Ozkour, known as "Philip," who was responsible for recruiting an operational cell composed of foreign nationals to be smuggled into Israel. "Philip" was controlled by agents named "Babak" and "Nadim," who were themselves directed by officers from Iran's Ministry of Intelligence.

Mossad and the Shin Bet emphasized their ongoing cooperation with global partners to detect and prevent terrorism and espionage activities against Jewish and Israeli interests both domestically and abroad. They pledged to hold all involved parties accountable with full severity. The announcement came amid heightened alertness in Israel and coincided with U.S. warnings about potential heavy bomber strikes. Additionally, reports surfaced that Israel suspects Iran of transferring centrifuges to Mount Al-Mukawis, underscoring escalating regional tensions.
