Israel Thwarts Dozens of Terror Attacks Abroad
Israeli security forces have recently foiled numerous terror plots targeting Jews and Israelis in various countries worldwide, including Western nations. Some of these planned attacks were in advanced stages and were stopped just before execution, according to a Channel 12 News report on Sunday evening. Security officials stated that dozens of significant attacks against Jews globally were thwarted over the past year.
Beyond Iran and Hezbollah, Israeli security agencies have identified Hamas as an increasingly active player on the international stage. While the organization has ceased hostilities in the Gaza Strip and faces operational difficulties in Judea and Samaria due to intensive security force activity, Hamas is now focusing on Israeli targets abroad as a means to strike Israel with greater operational freedom. The report indicates that Hamas has escalated its efforts to attack Israelis outside of Israel.
Despite Hamas's increased activity, Israel assesses that Iran remains the primary entity behind the planning and execution of terror operations abroad, continuing its efforts to advance attacks. A senior official from the National Security Council warned that Iranian activity has expanded significantly, stating, "The Iranians have significantly broadened the bodies and infrastructures intended to advance attacks abroad. For them, this is a strategic worldview."
The official emphasized the current period's heightened sensitivity, noting, "Every year this is a vulnerable period, but this year even more so."
