Hapoel Tel Aviv Set to Release Forward Colin Malcolm Amid Turkish Interest

Hapoel Tel Aviv is expected to release forward Colin Malcolm, who is currently sought after by Turkey's Anadolu Efes. Malcolm, 29, concluded last season with Hapoel following the team's exit from the EuroLeague while also dealing with an injury and the challenging security situation in Israel. Despite these difficulties, he initially expressed a desire to continue with Hapoel, and the club included him in their plans for the upcoming season.

However, in recent days, the possibility of Malcolm leaving the team has gained traction. After evaluating the situation, Hapoel decided to allow his departure. To fill his spot on the roster, the club has signed Amir Kofi and also has Ish Weinerite and Antonio Blakeney on the team. A final decision regarding Malcolm's status is expected within the next 24 hours.

Malcolm joined Hapoel Tel Aviv after two years playing in Paris, including a successful EuroLeague season. Prior to that, he played for Telekom Bonn, Carpanus, and leagues in Finland and Georgia. He played a significant role in the EuroLeague rotation, appearing in 40 games with an average of nearly 25 minutes per game, posting averages of 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and one assist. In the Israeli Premier League, he participated in 12 games, averaging 7.3 points and 4 rebounds per game.
