Israeli Economy Ministry Warns Against Using 'Norston' Water Heaters Due to Safety Risks
The Standards Supervisor at Israel's Ministry of Economy and Industry has issued a public warning against using an 80-liter electric water heater labeled "Norston - Solar and Electric Water Heater," manufactured in Israel and marketed between 2024 and 2025. The heater fails to meet Israeli safety standards and poses significant risks. Specifically, it does not stop heating during overheating conditions, and its internal tank coating does not comply with safety requirements, increasing the risk of explosion. Electrical system defects may also cause short circuits, electric shocks, or fires. Furthermore, the product is falsely certified as meeting standards and lacks proper model identification and serial numbers, violating legal regulations.
