Jerusalem Officials Demand Police Action After Harassment and Prostitution Reports in Nahalat Ahim

Residents of the Nahalat Ahim neighborhood in Jerusalem have reported a disturbing series of incidents involving voyeurism, sexual harassment, and trespassing during nighttime hours. According to multiple testimonies, women and young girls have been harassed by men dressed in ultra-Orthodox attire who allegedly peered into private homes, severely undermining residents' sense of security.

Additionally, locals claim that one apartment in the neighborhood operates as a brothel, attracting drug use, noise disturbances, and criminal activity. Despite repeated complaints to the police, residents say the neighborhood's safety has deteriorated.

In response, Jerusalem's Deputy Mayor Yossi Havilio urgently appealed to the police and municipal authorities to increase patrols and enforcement. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into all reported incidents and called for enhanced police and municipal supervision, including improved street lighting and the installation of surveillance cameras.

The police confirmed receiving complaints related to the neighborhood and stated they are treating all harassment and voyeurism reports seriously, committing to intensify their presence in the area. This call for action follows a recent murder in Nahalat Ahim that has heightened residents' fears and demands for restored security.
