Nisko Electric Gains Strict Halachic Approval for Smart Home Products in Collaboration with Halachic Technology Institute
Nisko Electric, a leading Israeli electrical company, has received official halachic-technical certification for its smart home and smart electrical product lines following a comprehensive collaboration with the Scientific Technological Institute for Halacha. This partnership aims to provide the ultra-Orthodox community with advanced technological solutions that fully comply with Jewish law, especially regarding Sabbath and holiday observance.
The process began several months ago when Kobi Shaked, Nisko's smart home division manager, met with Rabbi Avraham Moshe Halperin, head of the Institute, along with other senior rabbis and engineers. During the meeting, Nisko presented its cutting-edge smart home systems, while the Institute outlined stringent halachic and technological standards required to ensure all components meet the highest level of Sabbath compliance.
Following Nisko's commitment to implement necessary adaptations, Rabbi Halperin and engineer David Abrams conducted an extensive tour of Nisko's manufacturing facilities and high-tech laboratories. They closely examined the original mechanisms of the smart home products to verify the absence of any prohibited electronic activations during the Sabbath and holidays, such as sensor triggers or circuit closures.
After thorough testing confirmed that the systems operate according to strict halachic guidelines and incorporate the required technological safeguards, the Institute granted Nisko Electric its official halachic-technical certification. This milestone represents a significant advancement for the observant public seeking to integrate modern technology with uncompromising religious observance.
