US Intercepts Iranian Missiles Targeting Jordan Near Israel, Explosions Heard in Eilat

On Sunday, multiple missiles launched by Iran toward Aqaba in Jordan were intercepted by US air defense systems, with explosions heard in the southern Israeli city of Eilat. Iranian reports claimed missile fire toward Aqaba, prompting residents in Eilat to report hearing detonations. An Arkia flight from Tel Aviv to Eilat altered its route mid-air due to the missile threat, while another flight from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv experienced delays.

Video footage from Eilat showed missile debris falling in an open area near the Eilat mountains. Al Jazeera also reported explosions in Aqaba resulting from missile interceptions. Earlier, Israel launched two Iron Dome interceptors to destroy missile fragments that risked falling in Eilat, successfully neutralizing the threat without triggering public alerts.

This incident follows a similar missile attack attempt by Iran on Aqaba, a city close to the Israeli border, highlighting ongoing regional tensions and the readiness of US and Israeli defense systems to respond to such threats.
