US Launches 11th Consecutive Night of Strikes Against Iranian Military Targets

The United States continued its military campaign against Iran overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, with the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announcing a new wave of strikes on Iranian territory. This marked the 11th consecutive night of American attacks. CENTCOM later confirmed the operation's completion, reporting that multiple military targets were hit, including operational centers, maritime infrastructure, drone storage facilities, aircraft hangars, and logistical systems.

According to the US military, the objective of these strikes is to degrade Iran's capability to threaten freedom of navigation through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global economic shipping route. CENTCOM stated that Iran has been involved in over 30 attacks on commercial vessels in the region over the past three months. Since early May, US forces have secured the passage of approximately 900 commercial ships carrying around 450 million barrels of crude oil.

Iranian media reported a series of explosions at several locations within the country, including Bandar Abbas, Behbahan, Omidiyeh, Sirik, Mahshahr, and Tabriz. The Iranian news agency Noor News noted that air defense systems were activated in Tehran due to hostile targets approaching the capital. Iranian authorities also reported a gas leak explosion in the Narmak neighborhood of eastern Tehran, which they said was unrelated to any attack and caused no casualties.

In the context of these strikes and following threats from former US President Donald Trump, American bombers took off from the UK. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio commented on the possibility of resuming diplomatic talks with Tehran, stating that the US remains open to a political solution but emphasized that the ball is in Iran's court. "If they are serious, so are we. If not, we will do whatever is necessary to protect our interests and those of our allies," Rubio said.

Meanwhile, Iran continued to threaten that any US attack on its nuclear facilities would be considered an escalation of the regional conflict. Additionally, Kuwaiti air defenses were activated overnight due to the incursion of Iranian drones.
