Netherlands Officially Bans Import and Sale of West Bank Settlement Products from September 2026

The Dutch government announced that starting September 22, 2026, it will enforce a ban on the import, purchase, sale, and commercial mediation of products originating from Israeli settlements in the West Bank. This decision, initially approved in May 2023 and now formalized after receiving an advisory opinion from the Dutch Council of State, is based on the government's position that the settlements are illegal under international law. The new regulation prohibits not only the import of these products into the Netherlands but also their purchase and sale within Dutch territory.
