Rabbi Chaim Eliezer Kliger, Devoted Custodian of Rachov Hasidic Court, Passes Away at 82

Rabbi Chaim Eliezer Kliger, a devoted servant of the Rachov Hasidic court and longtime gabbai of the Rachov Beit Midrash in Ramat Gan, passed away suddenly at the age of 82. Born to Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Halevi, Rabbi Kliger was known for his humility, dedication to Torah study, and kindness to all. He served as gabbai of the Rachov Beit Midrash from its founding, supporting the community with great devotion and often funding celebrations and communal needs.

He was deeply connected to the Rachov rebbes, serving the late Rebbe of Rachov and continuing under the current Rebbe. Colleagues described him as a strict observer of mitzvot, a dedicated Torah scholar, and a warm, welcoming figure. Rabbi Kliger was also known for his acts of kindness, helping the needy both personally and financially.

His funeral took place on Tuesday, 7 Menachem Av, starting at 14:30 from the Rachov Beit Midrash on Barkai Street 20 in Ramat Gan, proceeding to the Yarkon Cemetery in the Haredi section near Petah Tikva, where he was buried. He is survived by his son Rabbi Yosef, family members, and many who cherished his memory. The family is sitting shiva at their home on Carmel Street 77 in Kiryat Netafim.
