Israeli Police Officer Injured in Violent Clash Between Jews and Armenians in Jerusalem's Jewish Quarter

In the early hours between Sunday and Monday around 1:00 AM, a violent altercation erupted in Jerusalem's Jewish Quarter on Chabad Street involving Jews and Armenians. The conflict began when Jewish individuals entered a property they claim to have purchased. Police arrived about an hour later and asked them to vacate the premises pending legal clarification. Shortly after the evacuation, a violent fight broke out between the Jewish group and Armenians, during which police officers were also attacked. One officer dislocated his shoulder and required medical treatment.

The police detained eight suspects, four Jews and four Armenians, although witnesses claim that dozens of Armenians participated in the assault but were not arrested. The entire incident was recorded by police cameras and other documentation. The Israeli police are currently investigating the circumstances and all parties involved.

The police described the event as a violent incident stemming from a civil dispute. Upon receiving the report, officers arrived promptly to separate those involved and restore public order. Nine individuals from both sides were questioned, and detainees were held separately according to protocol, with some in detention cells and others under police supervision. Authorities denied any claims of discrimination in handling the suspects.
