Police Officer Charged With Assaulting Two Teenagers in Jerusalem

The Police Investigation Department has filed an indictment against a police officer in Jerusalem for allegedly assaulting two 17-year-old boys. The incident occurred outside a hall in the city where the officer was providing security for a Torah scroll dedication ceremony. According to the indictment, the officer, who served as a neighborhood liaison officer, intervened in a dispute between the event manager and the two teenagers, who were seeking payment for their work. The officer allegedly pushed one of the teenagers and, after the teens received their payment, demanded identification from one of them. When the teenager refused, the officer is accused of punching him in the chest and ribs, knocking him to the ground, and continuing to strike him in the head, causing injuries. The officer also allegedly attacked the second teenager who attempted to defend his friend. The investigation was conducted by the Jerusalem team of the Police Investigation Department.
