Air India Delays Resumption of Direct Tel Aviv-Delhi Flights Until October

Air India, which previously operated up to seven weekly flights between Tel Aviv and New Delhi, has announced it will extend the suspension of its flights to Israel until October 2024. The airline halted its operations in Israel following the outbreak of war in October 2023. Despite multiple postponements, Air India had planned to resume flights in August but has now pushed the restart date to October 1 due to ongoing security concerns. Even then, the airline intends to reassess the situation before reopening ticket sales.

With Air India's continued absence, there are currently no direct flights between Israel and India. Travelers must rely on connecting flights offered by carriers such as El Al, Etihad Airways, and Ethiopian Airlines. The suspension affects not only the direct route but also the broader accessibility for Israeli passengers to Air India's global network.

Air India is a member of the Star Alliance, which allows it to integrate its route network with dozens of other airlines.
