Tiberias Club Owner Addresses Players Amid Doping Scandal Ahead of Toto Cup Match

On July 26, Arieh Kalmanzon, owner of the Israeli football club Ironi Tiberias, visited the team’s locker room for the first time since the doping scandal emerged. Speaking to players and staff, Kalmanzon expressed confidence and stability despite the ongoing legal and public challenges facing the club. He urged the players to ignore media speculation and focus on their performance on the field.

Kalmanzon emphasized that the club’s management is fully backing all members involved and is fighting the legal battle with full force. Ahead of the upcoming Toto Cup match against Bnei Sakhnin on Saturday, he conveyed a message of trust in the current squad, noting that absences of several players should be seen as opportunities for others to prove themselves. He stressed that Ironi Tiberias relies on a united team effort rather than individual stars, highlighting the commitment of veterans, newcomers, Israelis, and foreigners alike.

The club awaits a decision from the Israeli Sports Anti-Doping Agency on whether to file charges against those involved. Additionally, a hearing is scheduled for tomorrow at the Israeli Football Association’s Supreme Court, where Ironi Tiberias will seek to annul the disciplinary proceedings.
